This morning I received an email from a celebrated psychologist who wrote on dark personality traits (e.g., psychopathy, narcissism, Machiavellianism, sadism, authoritarianism). He labeled these personality traits "dark." To further add to this, Dr. Robert Hare who developed the psychopathy checklist and world recognized psychopathy researcher wrote..."But the distinction between mentally ill killers and sane but psychopathic murderers was by no means easy to come by.
